We called ourselves Magicnuts because when we had the initial idea for What a Legend, we thought that it was too ambitious and that we have had to be nuts to do it. So we were Nuts. Normal nuts, however, sounded boring, magic nuts, on the other hand, could be fun. And that’s how we came up with the name.
We are a super-small team of two: happily married and living in Spain. Chestnut is a freelance artist. She has worked on many projects for others but is new to making artworks for games. Pistachio teaches English in a local school. He has never done any coding before, and it is his job to make sure that WaL’s Ren’py works. (at least until we make enough money to have a professional clean-up the code and tell him what he’s been doing wrong).
We would never have thought that making games could be so much fun. It’s nice to imagine a world, work hard on it, and a couple of sleepless weeks later navigate around in it, talk with its inhabitants, and see it responding to your interactions.
Anyhow, that’s our brief story.
